November 2019 Hive Inspection

It was a warm enough day to open the hives for inspection. I had put some granulated sugar in the hives for winter feeding.

We have not had extreme cold or harsh weather and it was a great day to have a hive inspection.

I don't want to open the hive and let the heat out. The bees will keep the hive around 95 degrees in the winter, When you open the hive, the heat escapes and the hive may get chilled. Think of it like this, If someone lifted the roof off your house, you wouldn't be happy either.
