Honey soon for sale

The good news that when a hive dies in the winter is that there is honey!

Trust me, I would prefer to have a healthy bee colony than hone in January.

My "loss" is your gain.

I will have for sale soon 3 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz jars.

Honey is measured by weight and not volume. Honey weight which is not equivalent to liquid volume. For example, a 12 oz container will hold 12 oz of honey but only 8 oz of water.

Virginia requires that certain disclosures are included on honey labels.

"PROCESSED AND PREPARED WITHOUT STATE INSPECTION. WARNING: Do Not Feed Honey to Infants Under One Year Old.”

Here is an excerpt from the regulations.

  • Private homes where the resident processes and prepares pure honey produced by his own hives

  • The resident sells less than 250 gallons of honey annually

  • The resident does not process and sell other food products in addition to the honey, except as allowed above (ie: low risk foods and acidified foods).

I am hoping that I don't get to the 250 gallon mark soon......

Here are the proto types for the labels.

Please let me know what you think about the labels.

I think the labels look great!! I would love to get some honey from you once you start bottling. Big honey user here! 😁
