Remember the video that I posted about treating beetles? Well I have them... I knew that it was a strong possibility. That why I added the strips on the frame. I went to look today on a different hive and discovered that there are beetles.
Small Hive Beetles will destroy the comb. The larvae affect combs of stored honey and pollen and will also infest brood combs. Beetle larvae complete their feeding on bee combs and then migrate outside to pupate in the soil. Theses hives are on my concrete driveway. I covered the other hives that are on the ground with roofing paper.
There are also beetle traps that can be used between the frame. I have a few and will try that as a treatment.
